This class is for all levels. for beginners who wish to learn from a very passionate pottery teacher, with over 25 years experience the fundamental skills required to prepare the clay and throw a pot on the wheel or if you are experienced and need to come and play with the clay. Get to know your tools and the rules. Quick tour to know how the studio runs, setting up, tools needed for the wheel. how to knead your clay, followed by a detailed broken down demonstration by me on the wheel. One of the most challenging aspects of learning the wheel is that you have to learn all of it in one go and it's a lot to remember. Being able to come back the next day while it is still fresh really helps We throw pots on the first and second day and on the last day we trim the base of our pots and apply surface decoration time permitting. There is no glazing class in this program. Once your pots have been fired, I will apply glaze. All clay, glazes and firings are included in the cost and all firings are done in the studio. We only work with Stoneware clay, this means it can go in a dishwasher, microwave and oven, as it is fired to 1285 degrees.
