I started playing with clay when I was 8 and we moved to a little town on the north coast called Broomshead and then I went to high school and learnt how to throw on the wheel when I was 12 years old. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that a seed that was planted in high school would turn into one of my great loves in life and would become my everyday way of life. So over 9 weeks I will teach you what I ws taught in the beginning. Week 1. Studio Rules, OHS and then we start with hand building slabs so you can make a dinner set over the 9 weeks. Week 2. We start the wheel, Kneading centring, pulling up walls and shaping. Week 3. Trimming the base of your wheel shown pots and surface treatment. Week 4. Throw again Week 5. Glaze and Trim pots Week 6. Throw again Week 7. Trim and surface treatment Week 8. Hand build Larger slabs and flop/inverted molds Week 9. Glaze Exhibition of all finished work of Students All clay, glazes and firings are included in the cost. We only work with Stoneware clay and huge selection of Stoneware glazes from Mayco including some of the new ones and Walkers to choose from. Total Cost $540 Class numbers are only 6 therefore lots of time with me when needed.
