I fell in love clay when I was 8 years old (long story) and with the wheel when I was 13 years old and went to high school. One of the best relationships I've got. So come and see why I still love it and I will teach you all you need to know and all that I have learnt over the many years I have been doing it. Get to know your tools (I have all the tools you will need) and the rules. Quick tour to know how the studio runs, OHS and setting up tools needed for the task at hand. Week 1: Handbuilding techniques Week 2: Wheel throwing techniques Week 3; Trimming/Turning Suface treatment techniques Week 4: Glazing I give you a very detailed broken down demonstration on the wheel. One of the most challenging aspects of learning the wheel is that you have to learn all of it in one go and it's a lot to remember. You get to keep everything you make, unless it cracks before being bisque. All clay, glazes and firings are included in the cost. We only work with Stoneware clay and huge selection of Stoneware glazes from Mayco and Walkers to choose from. Total Cost $350 (gst included) Class numbers are only 7 therefore lots of time with me when needed.
