Service Description

This class is for those who wish to learn from a very passionate pottery teacher, with over 20 years experience, the fundamental skills required to prepare the clay and throw a pot on the wheel or if you are experienced and need to come and play with the clay on the wheel as there is no hand building in this class. Get to know your tools and the rules. Quick tour to know how the studio runs, followed by setting up and tools needed for the wheel. How to knead your clay, followed by a detailed broken down demonstration by me on the wheel. One of the most challenging aspects of learning the wheel is that you have to learn all of it in one go and it's a lot to remember. Only way to get better is to repeat and repeat and......... you get the picture. And that's what we do for the next 3 weeks, while also covering turning your vessel and different surface treatments to decorate your fabulous creations. Then we glaze in week 4. All clay, glazes and firings are included in the cost. We only work with Stoneware clay and huge selection of Stoneware glazes from Mayco and Walkers to choose from. Total Cost $330 Simply book in to secure your spot. Doors will be open 15 minutes prior to class starting. Please be sure of your booking as our policy is no refunds and no credits. If your miss a class the only time to make this up will be on Saturday mornings at an extra cost.
