I first learnt to throw on the wheel when I was 12 years old, and who would have thought that it would turn into one of the greatest loves of my life. My method of teaching is all about looking after your body.After a demonstration by me we then break each step down, and only having 6 in the class means I get to spend time with you all individually to help you on the wheel. We learn the basic fundamental techniques require for the wheel. Kneading, Centring pulling up walls and shaping your pot, we try for a cylinder but could end up with a bowl. Either way it's a fun challenge to learn the wheel. Lucky I love to teach it. Your pots will be left here to dry, I will trim and tidy the base. All pottery is fired to Stoneware, with food safe glazes so can go in dishwashers and microwaves. Your pottery needs to completely dry out before they are placed in the kiln for its first firing, I then apply glaze and fire it again, so can take anywhere up to 3 to 4 weeks before it is ready to go home. Cost is $70 per person
