Three days in a row to learn the basic fundamental techniques to get you on your way to being a fabulous thrower of pottery on the wheel. Kneading, centering, coning up and down, bring the walls up, shaping your pot, trimming/turning your creations, surface treatment to decorate your pots. So that's just the techniques, then we have a few tools we throw into the mix, so gotta learn how to use those as well. 2 classes throwing on the wheel, 1 class working on the leather hard pots to finish them. There is no glazing class in this course. I will be applying a glaze to finish them, or there will be options if you do want to choose your own glazes and do it in another class. Will be discussed in the last class. Pots need to dry out then get fired, glazed and back in the kiln for a stoneware firing, which means your pots can take up to 3 to 4 weeks to be complete. All clay and glazes are food safe and can go in the dishwasher, microwave and oven. Very functional and strong.
